Local is Lit

It is so ‘lekker’ to see that the local music industry has been growing and improving over every rock over the last year and a bit. Many artists have started to create a real iconic name for themself. One such musician, who I interviewed on the radio, and fortunate enough to attend his Video Remix Launch in Cape Town, was Kyle Deutsch.

We spoke about how he balances his day-to-day routine as a chiropractor; his time as a South African beach football player; rivalry between each other in the Wolf Pack (which Kyle said there’s only love) and his brand new project – the Video Remix Launch of his song Can’t Get Enough. We all know the original, and I have no doubts this song is one of the reasons why Kyle won ‘best pop artist of the year’ at the #MAMA2016. To listen to the full radio interview, click here.

I always say that a musician is not a musician if they can’t pull off a good performance live. And I can comfortably say that Kyle Deutsch did so with flying colours! The Remix Video of Can’t Get Enough was in collaboration with Bigstar Johnson, Tellaman, Kwesta and Sheen Skaiz and produced by Deemo. The beautiful venue of the Nasdak Rooftop bar (media 24 building) in Cape Town which overlooks Table Mountain and the ocean was where the party went down.

An open bar and roaming snacks were on offer throughout the evening, but when the legend MC, Siv Ngesi, announced the artists to take to the stage, all the guests were nowhere but the stage with phones out recording! Towards the end of the set, Kyle surprised everyone by announcing the he had just released a new single, “Killer”

I recommend that you keep your eyes fixed and ears open on Kyle Deutsch as he continues to keep local music lit.

(PS: he told me in the radio interview that we can expect a new album towards the middle of the year.)
